GABRIEL DE OLIVEIRA / BRANDON LOPEZ / SAMUEL BER / PIETRO ELIA BARCELLONA / ELSA VAN DER LINDEN
A special occasion tonight with NY based bassist / composer Brandon Lopez in town, working at the fringes of contemporary music with top musicians from Matthew Shipp to John Zorn. He will be teaming up with guitarist Gabirel de Oliveira and drummer Samuel Ber in a trio and subsequently in a double bass duo with Pietro Elia Barcellona! Next to that BUI co-founder improvisor/saxophonist Elsa van der Linden will perform solo.
Brandon Lopez is a bassist and composer living in New York City. His work deals with improvisation and finding new possibilities on the double bass. Brazilian guitarist Gabriel de Oliveira has been admiring his musical approach for a long time and dives into this musical adventure, together with Belgian drummer Samuel Ber, also a first time encounter!
A double bass meeting of two improvisers from different corners of the world!
Elsa van der Linden (1994) does research into capturing the moment, by listening, performing and documenting. As a musician and scenographer, she is interested in unexpected events. She plays with the saxophone as an instrument and space as a co-player. For her, improvisation is a perfect tool to listen to what is already there and use that as a starting point to create a moment-specific experience.

Album Release Party, An intimate meeting of creative spirits,
Once upon a time in Hollywood.. Amsterdam-based Laurien aka ‘SHE Snowapple’ visited her grammy nominated friend David Michael Ott in his little studio on Leland Way in LA. They had agreed to meet for a cup of tea, but they ended up jamming for hours, combining improvised piano and synthesiser soundscapes with poems written by her French friend Eva Schumacher.
Eva’s poetry became the backbone of the art film ‘A Moonless Night’. The story of the film evolves in a bar where lost souls congregate, reminiscent of David Lynch’s ‘Blue Velvet’ bar, stuck in an endless night. In the film you follow the obsessions of the characters, and also the possibility of redemption. Is it possible to be saved? And do we want to be saved?
The ‘A Moonless Night’ album features songs from the film and will be released on the 4th of October on streaming platforms as well as a limited-edition vinyl, which features bonus tracks, poetry and beautiful artwork. On the 3rd, Snowapple hosts a release party of the album in SEXYLAND. You’ll get the chance to be the first to hear the music in a live showcase and see snippets of the film.
On this album some of the greatest musicians in the scene collaborated: Vinnie Colaiuta on drums, Ryan Porter on trombone, Thomas Lea on violin, Frescia Belmar on bass, Fitz (Kool & the Gang) on saxophone, and many others. You can listen to the opening song You’re Mine on YouTube. The second song ‘Darkness’ will be released on the 20th of September. Also on the night Suwanne’s Clit Club, an eclectic & ecstatic dance journey into the yoniverse and beyond.
Snowapple Collective is a pluridisciplinary and international artists’ collective that values new encounters, collaborations and artistic experiments. Snowapple brings people together under the banner of creative exploration and expression. The collective is based in Amsterdam, Paris, and Mexico City, is women-led, and embodies women empowerment in all layers of its organization and productions.
We believe that art should be entertaining, and above all – never boring.
We believe that art is everywhere and that it has no rules other than the ones we want to give it.

A No Limit’s! Art Castle! Opening special
Jongeren creëren oogverblindende outfits, dragen traditionele juwelen, en hebben hun face painted for the gods. They’re serving “DRAG”!
BOUJLOUD = ABOU+DJILD => ABOU = MEESTER | DJILD = HUID
The queens of multi-layered fabulosity – JE RAADT HET AL, DE QUEERS!!!!

Vintage fashion & small designer pop-up market
Our concept is that we want to give a platform for small businesses mainly in the fashion industry and simultaneously show people that it’s better to buy second-hand. This is why we organise this; a market with multiple vendors - small (fashion) designers, vintage fashion sellers and (beauty) services. We curate this list of vendors based on what we like and believe in- this is done on Instagram mainly since all of our vendors work through the socials and don’t have a physical store - that’s a rule for us. For me personally, organising events was always something that I liked but I just didn’t want to do night parties. I wanted my events to have a deeper meaning. And after the first event, I felt like this is it! I love doing it and seeing the vendors happy and, most importantly, our guests. We also have our DJs so it is amazing that you can provide the equipment!

A cute get together with your friendly neighbourhood hippo.
Gustavo is your friendly neighbourhood hippo. He’s coquette, a friend of all lesbians, chess piece destroyer (omnomnom!) and activist for queer and anti-imperialist causes. He decided to document his mission on Instagram and so came about a small community of loyal fans. As his manager and momager, I’ve decided to celebrate Gustavo’s successes with a party. The theme of the party will be – to no one’s surprise – coquette!
We’re organising a party with Gustavo in mind, most of all to bring this community together. We also want to use this opportunity to support our friend’s fundraiser for Ukraine, reward a loyal Gustavo fan with some merch, and of course have a really fun time!
We will have the honour of enjoining the talent of DJ n, LEVa and B222.
DJ n will bring us a surprise mix of danceable music.
LEVa performs in styles such as melodic house, electro and techno in the 125-150 BPM range. LEVa is for the body, for closed eyes, for the rhythm that is felt in your bones.
After her B222 is playing high energy, upbeat, dance music in styles such as happy hardcore, hyperpop, and revamped club classics.

The freshest creative faces new to Amsterdam. Live Music, an art market and exhibition. Come check this out!
We are organizing this event because we want to welcome the new faces of Amsterdam. Our collective is wanting to show its colors so we can present what thick collective is about and what we stand for. It is especially targeting students that are new in the city, as well as young adults that are interested in participating in an interactive gathering of creatives. We are hoping to create some interest in our community and be able to network with other creative organizations/clubs in the Netherlands.
The idea for this event is basically to give a platform to our emerging talent, as well as provide a space for student-run businesses to be able to introduce their mission and potentially find other interested people to work with. Additionally we will hopefully be able to hold a small market with some merchandise designed especially for thick collective.
This is an event for creatives by creatives and everyone is absolutely welcome to come check out what talent is going to be dominating Amsterdam’s night scene in the next few months!

Boujloud is an Islamic/indigenous ritual stemming from an ancient legend that follows the sacrifice of a sheep during Eid al-Kebir. This fabulous creature, half human and half beast, embodies divine punishment and parades as a masked, non-binary diva through the streets of southern Morocco. Boujloud groans, sings, and ignores all rules.
Today, Boujloud in Agadir is transformed into the ultimate spectacle of self-expression. Young people create dazzling outfits, wear traditional jewelry, and have their faces painted for the gods. They’re serving “DRAG”! This visual art form challenges heteronormative norms and brings new, unprecedented roles and identities into the spotlight. This ritual provides a platform and celebrates communities that struggle to find their place elsewhere. Through costuming, they gain anonymity as a stage to find acceptance where it is normally not possible.
BOUJLOUD = ABOU+DJILD –> ABOU = MASTER | DJILD = SKIN
Who is the master of the skin today? Who switches better between identities and has the best drip? The queens of multi-layered fabulosity – YOU GUESSED IT, THE QUEERS!!!!
The Boujloud exhibition builds on the themes of this parade. These themes are explored by artists such as Sarjon, Imad Zoukanni, DJ Cheb Runner, Hussein Shikha, and others. These artists relate to both the S.W.A.N.A. identity and/or the queer community. How can art occupy a space where supposedly conflicting identities can come together fluidly?

Who is the master of the skin today? Who switches better between identities and has the best drip? The queens of multi-layered fabulosity – YOU GUESSED IT, THE QUEERS!!!!
The Boujloud exhibition builds on the themes of this parade. These themes are explored by artists such as Sarjon, Imad Zoukanni, DJ Cheb Runner, Hussein Shikha, and others. These artists relate to both the S.W.A.N.A. identity and/or the queer community. How can art occupy a space where supposedly conflicting identities can come together fluidly?

VibeLab, EMC, DARKMATTER Collective and Podiumkunst.net will host a day on archiving Club Culture, legacy and local identity in one of the most culturally relevant and creative places of Amsterdam. Sexyland World.
Popular and vernacular cultures—such as club culture, electronic music, and other night culture practices—have historically been overlooked in the formal cultural canon, deemed unworthy of preservation. However, recent years have seen the beginnings of a shift: club and night cultures, particularly electronic music, are now being showcased in academic scholarship, exhibitions, and museums across cities in the US and Europe. This emerging focus underscores the need to give a platform to lesser-known contributions, emphasising the importance of preserving the rich, often marginalised legacies of these vibrant cultural movements.
VibeLab, in collaboration with Dutch performing arts platform Podiumkunst.net, invites you to dive into the past and help preserve the history of Dutch club and night culture. We’re hosting a Flyer Scan Day to capture the essence of nightlife through the flyers that defined its moments.
We’re mapping out the legacy of the scene—and we need your help. Flyers, posters, and event materials hold the metadata that tells the story of our culture. Bring anything related to parties, festivals, or events. If it fits under the scanner, it fits into our archive.
Let’s immortalise these moments together to save our legacy for future generations.
We invite curators, DJs, organisers, venues, policymakers, scene enthusiasts, night mayors, and heritage specialists with an interest in night culture to participate in this focus group. During the focus group, Dutch heritage creators from past and present night culture will discuss the current status of this heritage and formulate recommendations for its preservation and future recognition.
EMC & Mixmag Asia presents Stewardship in the Global Club Culture Expansion: Navigating Growth, Legacy, and Local Identity
As global club culture expands across continents, the electronic and dance music industry faces a critical juncture in fast-growing markets like APAC and MENA. This session explores the delicate balance between rapid corporate growth and the preservation of authentic local scenes, emphasising the importance of genuine engagement and relationship-building. Through the insights of respected cultural and industry leaders, we’ll uncover strategies for creating lasting legacies that honour local pioneers and communities, from underground techno bunkers to large mainstream festivals.
For all stakeholders passionate about the future of global club culture, this session examines how brands and businesses can make meaningful impacts and build enduring legacies in emerging markets through respect, fairness, and collaboration. By navigating the confluence of commerce and culture, we’ll explore new paradigms of opportunity and responsibility that ensure the globalisation of club culture enriches rather than erodes local communities. Whether you’re a passionate raver, visionary promoter, or corporate strategist, this session promises insights that will shape the future of our collective club culture and inform legacy-building efforts in these burgeoning markets.

The Freshes artist showcase of them all. Album release of TM12!
During the Amsterdam Dance Event Stichting Toekomst Muziek will present their newest album, tm12, showcasing a range of upcoming artists. After twelve months of hard work the moment is here to give the stage to Youngzi, Young Kid, Rafa, Lil Max, VIII, Chareldior. Joining them on this release party are De Basement & Prince NMSS previous featured on the compilation.
The Toekomst Muziek foundation is an empowerment project that supports young people through music, focusing on beat-making, singing, and rap. It targets youth with unresolved issues and offers a program that centers on their musical talents. Over a period of at least 12 months, participants work on a compilation album, music videos, and a CD release tour, while also developing their social and emotional skills. The project combines music with guidance, helping participants find suitable education or employment, both within the music industry and beyond. Since its founding in 2010 in Amsterdam Southeast, Toekomst Muziek has helped over hundred kids, produced 13 albums, recorded 30 music videos, and organized 38 performances. The foundation aims to reduce risky behavior and provide meaningful leisure activities. Its mission is to empower youth in all areas of life and encourage them to become entrepreneurial, whether in the music industry or elsewhere.
Dherl Deekman is the founder of Toekomst Muziek. He moved from Paramaribo to Amsterdam at the age of six and developed a passion for music at a young age, particularly within the hip-hop scene. Alongside his musical activities, Dherl decided to pursue a degree in pedagogy, which eventually led to his combining music with social work. In 2010, he launched the Toekomst Muziek project as part of his thesis for his Pedagogy degree, inspired by his work as a youth counselor. Dherl sees music not just as a tool, but as a powerful medium for personal growth and self-expression. Through music, he helps young people discover their inner strength, address their problems, and grow as individuals. As a pedagogue and social entrepreneur, he envisions Toekomst Muziek growing sustainably, with young people themselves eventually taking over and carrying the project forward. His vision is to help youth carve their own paths, both in music and in other areas of life.

The One Minutes x BUTT magazine: Premiere and Afterparty
SEXYLAND WORLD premieres the sexiest One Minutes series yet, ‘Fixations’, curated by BUTT magazine!
You are invited!
The premiere screening will be followed by performances and DJ’s.
[Trailer]
‘Fixations’ offers 25 minutes of turn-ons from around the world. BUTT magazine, a community hub for some of the most important conversations and unhinged dynamics in gay culture, asked: What gets you going? What turns you on? What are your obsessions? The response did not disappoint — with over 115 submissions. BUTT curated 25 minutes of turn-ons from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and the United States; a horny mash-up of cum rags, a pasta-plated p*ssy, dark rooms, wedgies and more.
Participating artists: Felipe Andrat, Ruben Duijst, Benjamin Fredrickson, Anon Chudai, Wall & Yero, Kári Thayer, ANIMA, Berke Yazicioglu, Yola Camilleri, zinecalzon, Mario Scavezzon, Matt Lambert, Michal Dobrucki, Jessica Römer, Cathal O’Brien, Alefi & Angelica Paci, K. G. Helm & Ms Carlisle, Jeff Sermon, Diego Barriga, Lee Campbell, Nicolas Santos , Nadir Sönmez, Djordje Živković, Ethan Roberts, Bully Fae Collins and Hayley Garrigus.
‘Fixations’ is rooted in BUTT’s two decade celebration of gay culture in print. The notorious zine is known as a forum for shameless queers around the world to speak straightforwardly about their ideas, work and sex lives. Now, in partnership with The One Minutes, BUTT invited its highly-creative community to submit films detailing what catches their horny eye and why. In the spirit of the magazine, the series zooms in closely and honestly on the body in all its erotic detail, offering up 25 playful and personal accounts of sexual fixation.
Using the forces of video, The One Minutes wants to contribute to creating spaces for free expression, collective imagination, and global solidarity in our different, yet deeply interconnected realities.
Every two months, The One Minutes releases a new series of one-minute films exploring our current time in moving images. Museums and cultural organisations around the world subscribe to the series.

Daytime Techno Showcase
With re:code at SEXYLAND, we are thrilled to present a day party that introduces a fresh and innovative approach to Amsterdam’s techno scene. Our event is designed to offer a vibrant alternative to the city’s typical nightlife, focusing on community engagement and providing a platform for emerging artists and musicians. By creating a space where forward-thinking artists can connect with a diverse and enthusiastic crowd, we aim to foster a sense of unity and artistic exploration.
Our event will showcase a lineup of atmospheric, tribal, and groovy techno, featuring both our resident DJs and prominent figures from Amsterdam’s underground scene. This curated selection reflects our deep ties to the techno scenes in London, Germany, and Amsterdam. The music will guide attendees through a journey of rhythmic innovation, aligning with our collective’s vision of merging sonic depth with a rich visual experience.
SEXYLAND World serves as the ideal venue for this concept, offering a flexible and creative space that aligns with our artistic vision. To enhance the sensory experience, Agencies Studios will design a stage that blends jungle-inspired aesthetics with neurocerebral elements. We will incorporate dendritic influences in our design, reflecting the complex branching patterns of neurons and adding depth to our neurocerebral theme. This design will also draw inspiration from stereocilia—the tiny hair-like structures in the inner ear that detect subtle vibrations—mirroring our focus on the intricate interplay of rhythm and sensation in music.
Beyond the music, our event will feature an exposé of local artists, offering a variety of artistic expressions from non-permanent tattoos to handmade jewelry. This integration of art with music creates a multi-dimensional experience, highlighting the creativity and talent within our community.
We are deeply committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all attendees. Instead of a traditional door policy, we will have an awareness team to ensure that our values of inclusivity and respect are upheld throughout the event. To ensure that our gathering is accessible to a broad audience, we will keep ticket prices at a modest €13. This approach reflects our belief that meaningful experiences should be available to everyone, countering the high cost of many events in Amsterdam.

Aftersummerdip? Let’s get together before that completely kicks in.
At the Lutheal autumn release party we celebrate the luteal phase of the menstruation cycle, the beginning of autumn, and new music that is being released.
These three topics all have in common; Letting go something you’ve put a lot of energy in. We want to emphasize we live with a cyclic nature around and within us. And that it doesn’t have to be a burden if we understand the function of it. We can even make use of it and improve our quality of living.
To give this celebration a sound we lined up a variety of contrasting acts, so you can match your introvert and extrovert mood during this Lutheal autumn release.
Genres: Post-alt, indie/folk pop, Alternative/soul pop, house-techno
Line up:
Loki Project, I have a new bike, Black Baby Tiger, DJ chilipoeder
There will also be artworks available, made by the bands!
